Quick heat up
I brought this steam mop about 1 month ago. The mop heats up fast . I found that it leaves the floors wetter than my old steam mop. You also have to work out the right setting for the dispenser of detergent ( floor wash) which took a couple of mopsto get this right otherwise you end up with sticky floors.The pads are also harder to keep clean I have to pre soak them before washing to get them clean without marks on them. but they are easy to replace during mopping without touching them with your hands you can take them off with your foot. It gets into tight spaces and I can get the floor streak free. I have 5 dogs so it gets lots of use. Easy to set up and use quickly.

Great little steam mop!
Bought this model about a month ago and have used it at least twice a week since then. Very powerful for it's size, it's light weight and has ample cord length to do a very large room using one powerpoint. Using the detergent on low gives the best results on tiles and floorboards. I recently steam mopped my living room rug and it got rid of most the inbuilt dirt and freshened it up. Not bad considering it's not a shampooer! The only thing I wish was that it was cordless...then it would be worth 5 stars

Great until no longer works and no repairers
My VAX VX22 is about 18 months old, I've used it occasionally since I got it and was happy until it stopped working. Like everyone else, I've done all the trouble shooting and still no steam - seems to be a common problem where it turns on and looks like it should work, but nothing.
I'd be happy to pay to have it fixed but there are only 3 authorised repairers in QLD and they are not near me.
What am I to do with this broken steam mop? I don't want it to got to landfill so it just sits at the back of my cupboard. I wish VAX was required by law to take it back and deal with the disposal, that might make them less inclined to sell products that break so quickly.

Worked great until it did not.
This steammop worked great and I was very happy with its performance. My issue is to do with its longevity. I am currently on my second Vax steammop as the original was replaced under warranty (after 4 months the first one stopped working). I am now on my second one and it no longer steams. I have had this one for just over 12 months and it too does not work anymore. In the 12 months I only used the mop around 6 or 7 times so it did not stop working because it was overworked. I used them both as per the manufacturers manual but am a little disappointed in how long the steammop worked for.

My 2nd VX22
This is my 2nd VX22 mop and this one is better than the first one which was on it's 2nd handle and the 2nd handle broke in two- pretty disappointing after 2years. Amazing how much better the new one is, the handle seems to have been put together better and better steam output... I think the microfibre heads are much better than towelling for cleaning tiled floors and trigger control is great for different floor types and cleaning needs..

It's a while since we bought this mop. January 2017 actually. Really loved it was so easy to use and great for the vast tiled area of our home. We didn't use it a lot on average once a month sometimes more frequently. Loved the detergent feature as it left the house smelling so fresh. Last week my husband was mopping away when the handle snapped clean off. So disappointed, can't bear the thought of it going into landfill. Seriously Vax a product should last more than 2 years. I would rate tge product higher had it not broken so quickly.

Very upset
Very very upset with this product. $150 is a lot to spend on a mop and it’s just left me disappointed. My old mop didn’t wring properly and left too much water on the floor and left streaks which is why I bought this steam mop. this mop still leaves streaks on the floor whether I use it with or without the detergent and whether I use very minimal steam or more steam. Very disappointing as I could have used my $20 mop and just dried the floor afterwards with a tea towel.

VERY DISAPPOINTED
I previously had a vax pet fresh steam mop on which the handle broke after about three years and replaced it a newer model a few months ago. Once again the handle snapped today as I was mopping. It is clearly evident that this is a design fault and failure as indicated by other reviews on this page. Utterly disgusted and angry atheist money I’ve wasted. I look forward to the solution you offer me and those below.

Question & Answers
Have had this mop for awhile and has been terrific, however now the detergent has stopped working. Tried clearing any blockages as per instructions in manual, but to no avail. Can you help.

I've had problems like this with 2 models both the original and replacement. I disassembled the base from the head and poked every hole with a metal pin unplug the unit first then gave the base a good bang on the floor to clear anything blocking it. And it produces steam again

New machine do I have to hold trigger continually when I release steam stops? Also is there an easy way to get white button to release

Thanks for reaching out, the trigger on this unit does need to be depressed for steam to be produced (we recommend intermittent use of the steam to prevent over wetting of the floor), and with regards to the white button i am unsure of what it is you are referring to, but with this being new some of these buttons/switches can be a little stiff but will loosen up with use, if you find it difficult to use after a few uses then please contact our customer service team for assistance.

My steam mop has been used twice. Both times it only steams for 3 minutes and then nothing. The unit itself is hot and I have taken it apart and checked for blockages. What next as it takes me longer to take it apart and check than I spend cleaning?

Is the Vax vx22 safe to use on wooden floors?

Hi Thanks for reaching out, This steam mop may not be suitable for all floating floorboards or sealed floors – please check with your floorboard manufacturer first prior to use, and test your flooring/carpet/rugs by running the steam mop over a small hidden area, if no pile distortion or no damage occurs continue cleaning. Not suitable for use on wax polished floors or furniture, acrylic surfaces and synthetic, velvet or steam/water sensitive materials.

Hi, I purchased the vx22 steam mop around Christmas of 2017, Recently I’ve noticed that it is leaking and found that where the cap screws onto the water tank is worn and it no longer holds that plug in tight, can we purchase a replacement tank?

Steam fresh purchased approx 10mths ago. Has now stopped producing steam. The lights on machine are on and the machine is heating up. I have followed the instructions in product support but nothing has changed.

This may be occurring due to a number of reasons:
- Depending on the use the hard water filter may be blocked or discolored and needs to be replaced.(You can order from the spare component retailer "Stokes appliance parts" or the special orders desk at your local "Bunnings Warehouse" the part number is: 029158003008.
- Alternatively, there may be a blockage within the machine (See attached image or your user manual for clearing this.)

Hi, I have the VX22 steam cleaner and it worked fine for awhile but the last few times when I press the steam button It has a grating/humming noise. I followed what has been suggested on the product support but it does not work.

The humming/ grating sound should be the heating elements working to produce steam.
If you feel this causing the unit not to perform as well we'd suggest visiting a service agent for a closer inspection.
