Love this carpet cleaner!
Cleaned our carpets and was amazed at how much dirt and cat hair came out! Did a vacuum again today, and the dirty cannister was nearly empty! Our carpets are old and cream coloured, so are never going to look new again, but I'm really impressed at how much better they look, and that I can now clean them myself. It is a bit fiddly, being a smaller model than others, so you are constantly emptying the dirty water canister and filling the cleaning canister with new water and cleaning liquid. But as it's so easy to maneuver, it's an easy compromise. I wish I'd bought this years ago. Won't bother getting the carpets steam cleaned anymore.

I bought this carpet shampooer as we have dogs and the carpet has quite a few stains. Carpet is also pretty old. Once I got the hang of how to use it and for the carpet to dry (about 2 days), the carpet looked pretty good. Not all the stains and marks came out but it does look cleaner and is worth it.
A downside is how to clean the machine, you have to remove 6 screws, pull it all apart and take out the roller but even then you can’t get to all the hair and dirt off the machine. Also the dirty water tank doesn’t have the best plug hole to allow for cleaning. Bound to have some residual dirt and hair remain in the tank.
Overall, carpet is better for the clean but more effort than I thought it would be. The amount of dog hair in the carpet was probably too much for this machine.

OMG! Best money ever spent!!!!
This is so light weight. We cleaned our carpets as soon as we could. I was horrified to see how much dirt, hair and grime was in my carpet. We vacuum everyday FYI.
It was unbelievable the colour of the dirty water but stoked that it’s done the job. Fresh smelling and nice to walk on again! Totally recommend!!

Doesn't last long
I have had 3 of these and they have all had the same problem.. they clean really well but after a few uses all the bearings inside rust and seize together the while thing starts to make a horrible noise starts burning and smoke starts pouring oout.
It has happened to all 3 ive had and you cannot get replacement parts to fix it.

Works as good as a more expensive model
Really impressed with this vac. Suction is great, it sucks liquid out of the carpet really well. I use half vinegar half water mixture in it instead of the proper stuff. Easy to fill up & easy to pull apart to clean.
Would highly recommend this vac to others

Couldn't Be Happier!
Purchased Vax Compact Power Carpet Shampooer to clean the carpets in our rental property. Our carpets are dark blue so it's hard to tell just how dirty they really are. Well, the answer is apparently VERY. Quite horrified to see just how much dirt and grime was really stuck in there but luckily Vax got it all out. Even the room that we had cleaned not that long ago by what we though was a reputable company came up just as dirty as the others!
The Shampooer was easy to set up and a breeze to use - doesn't take long at all to get a deep clean. Overall very satisfied with purchase and would recommend this product to anyone with carpeted rooms in their home - especially for those with allergies or asthma in the family :) No need to hire 'professional' cleaners ever again!

Great product for the price
Does a good job and doesn’t leave the carpet too wet. Performs much better than I expected, I doubt more expensive units can do the job any better.

Works well
I have now used this on a couple of occasions and still very happy. Easy to use, very effective, I got exactly what I was expecting.
If I was going to make a negative comment, it would be that the brush area is fiddly to clean but not a huge deal.
