Have you checked the machine for a blockage?
Switch the machine off and unplug from the wall socket
Disconnect the main hose from the short lower hose
Remove the base cover to access the brushes
Drop a small ball of paper down the top of the lower hose
Is the paper stuck?
Yes?
There is a blockage and this will need to be removed
No improvement?
Go to 'Brushbar not turning'
Has the machine cut out whilst in use?
The machine is equipped with a safety thermal cut out, which is designed to activate if the air cannot flow through the machine as it should. Allow 24 hours for the machine to cool down thoroughly, in the meantime go to 'No suction from the hose' for advice on how to clear the blockage.
Has the machine been without power for over 24 hours?
Have you changed the fuse? If not, please replace the fuse in the plug with another 13 amp fuse
Fuse changed and still no power?
Does the machine go on and off when moved?
Is the brushbar not turning?
Switch the machine off and unplug from the wall socket
Remove the cover from the base of the machine to access the brushbar
Is the belt broken?
Yes?
A replacement belt is required, go to 'Spares' tab above
No?
Remove the belt and turn the brushbar by hand
Brushbar stiff to turn by hand?
Yes?
A replacement brushbar is required, go to 'Spares' tab above
No?
Accessing the belt and brushbar
Switch the machine off and unplug from the wall socket
Remove the 5 screws underneath the machine
Turn the machine over, remove the top cover
Lift the brushbar to remove
Have you cleaned the filters?
Remove the dirt container
Press the release button to empty the dirt
Visually inspect the dirt container release door
Is there a seal around the outer edge?
(Go to 'Maintenance' tab above for further assistance)
No?
A replacement dirt container is required, go to 'Spares' tab above
Yes?
Remove the filter from underneath the dirt container and tap to get all of the dust off
Rinse the filter under the tap (max 40 degrees, no detergent) allow at least 24 hours for it to fully air dry before placing back in the machine
No improvement?
Go to 'Have you checked the hose?'
Have you checked the suction from the motor?
Remove the dirt container and the filter that sits directly underneath
Switch the machine on
Place a piece of paper over the vent located underneath the dirt container
Suction strong?
Go to 'Have you cleaned the filters?'
No?
Have you checked the hose?
Remove the hose from the machine
Drop a small ball of paper down the top of the hose
Is the paper stuck?
Yes?
There is a blockage and this will need to be removed
No?
Complete a visual check of the hose
Are there any splits/tears on the hose?
Yes?
A replacement hose is required, go to 'Spares' tab above
No?
Cleaning the pre-motor filter
Remove the dirt container
Twist to remove the pre motor filter cover located where the dirt container normally sits
Remove the pre motor filter from the cover
Tap the filter against the side of a bin
Rinse filter under the tap (no detergent)
Allow 24 hours to air dry
Emptying and cleaning the dirt container
Remove the dirt container
Release dirt from the dirt container
Twist the lid to remove
Remove the dust separator
Tap the separator against the side of a bin, use a soft brush to remove any remaining debris
Removing a blockage from the hose
Remove the hose from the side
Remove the hose where it joins the machine at the back and push a broom handle through to clear any obstruction
Is the seal missing?
Remove the dirt container and open the dirt release door
Visually inspect the dirt container door. The seal (on the left, highlighted in orange) should be present
