Cleaning the pre-motor filter

A

 Remove the dirt container

 Remove the filter cover and lift out the filter and filter frame

 Seperate the filter and filter frame

 Tap the filter against the side of a bin, rinse the filter under the tap (no detergent) and allow 24 hours to air dry

Emptying and cleaning the dirt container

A

 Remove the dirt container

 Release the dirt from the dirt container

 Turn the lid anti-clockwise and lift out separator

 Wipe dust separator and dirt container with a cloth to remove any debris

Cleaning the post-motor filter

A

 Twist the post motor filter cover and remove the filter

 Tap the post-motor filter on the side of a bin. DO NOT WASH

Clearing a blockage

A

 Remove the hose from the machine

 Push a broom handle (or something similar) through the hose to remove the blockage

Have you cleaned the filters?

A

Remove the dirt container

Remove the pre-motor filter and frame that sit in the machine directly underneath the dirt container

Tap against the side of a bin to get all of the dust off

Rinse the pre-motor filter and frame under the tap (max 40 degrees, no detergent) allow at least 24 hours for it to fully air dry before placing back in the machine

Remove the separator from the dirt container

Inspect the holes for blockages and clear debris

No improvement?

Go to 'Have you checked the hose?'

Have you checked the suction from the motor?

A

Remove the dirt container, filter cover and filter

Switch the machine on

Place your hand or a piece of paper over the hole located on the machine, where the filter would normally sit

Suction strong?

Yes?

Go to 'Have you cleaned the filters?'

No?

Have you checked the machine for a blockage?

A

Disconnect the hose from the front of the machine

Remove the dirt container

Drop a ball of paper though the rectangular hole halfway down on the machine where the dirt container would normally fit

Is the paper stuck?

Yes?

You have a blockage and this will need to be removed

No improvement?

Remove the hose from the machine

Drop a small ball of paper down the top of the hose

Is the paper stuck?

Yes?

There is a blockage and this will need to be removed

Complete a visual check of the hose

Are there any splits/tears on the hose?

Yes?

A replacement hose is required, go to 'Spares' tab above

Go to 'Have you checked the machine for a blockage?'

Has the machine cut out whilst in use?

A

The machine is equipped with a safety thermal cut out, which is designed to activate if the air cannot flow through the machine as it should. Allow 24 hours for the machine to cool down thoroughly, in the meantime go to 'No suction' for advice on how to clear the blockage.

Has the machine been without power for over 24 hours?

A

Have you changed the fuse? If not, please replace the fuse in the plug with another 13 amp fuse
